Thieves in the Network: Advanced Persistent Threats
INTRODUCTION
Advanced persistent threats (APT) are the natural evolution of cyberattacks in a technological landscape bursting with juicy data to steal. As the name implies, these types of attacks are methodical, prolonged, and present a significant threat to an organization’s confidential information.
To stay below the radar, attackers choose tactics, such as less aggressive network recon and slower data exfiltration, that minimize the ability of the victim to detect, track, or reconstruct the attack.
